With telescopic handles, there are different locking systems. The cheapest solution is an internal closure in the tube that is invisible. The external closure with a threaded ring guarantees that the closure will not come loose, which is possible with an internal closure. Therefore, an external closure is better suited for use with a paint roller. An internal closure can be used for cleaning. There are different types of threads on the market: German with a fine thread and Italian with a coarse thread. So always check the thread of your tool.
