Scrubbing brushes are easily recognised by their short hard bristles. A good scrubbing brush usually has bristles just 3cm long. Both synthetic and plant-based fibres are used for this purpose. Plant-based fibres absorb water more easily, which makes them become slightly softer. Synthetic fibres always remain hard even in water.
